Workshop: Imaging Home w/ Janet Klees

Workshop Overview:

You will learn how to imagine the best home for your loved one! And you’ll learn how you can take your next steps to make it happen.

Janet will be sharing the stories of several families who helped their loved ones to create an individualized home, along with the lessons learned so that you can use these insights with your own family.

About Janet Klees:

Janet has been involved in the lives of people with disabilities, their families, and allies in community for over 30 years. She was the family-governed Deohaeko Support Network coordinator for over 20 years. She is the author of three books which are directly rooted in the Deohaeko experience, (We Come Bearing Gifts; Our Presence has Roots; Deohaeko Decades) and which are now sold around the world to present the unique options of this family group.  Currently, Janet is the Executive Director with a family support organization, the Durham Association for Family Respite Services, with hopes of sharing her learning with a wider group of families in Durham Region and trying to affect larger scale supports and changes for families.
